Women’s Health:
Between Medical Data and Medial Discourses

The „Women’s Health“ project, led by Prof. Dr. Astrid Ensslin, investigates the intersections of women’s health and media. It addresses current developments in digital health by exploring how media technologies shape understandings and experiences of women’s health. Particular attention is paid to discourses on women’s health and to FemTech applications, such as menopause and menstrual tracking apps.

The project seeks to establish a network of scholars researching women’s health and women’s bodies from different disciplinary perspectives, including medicine, biology, psychology, biology, media studies, literary studies, and cultural studies. It thereby aims to strengthen interdisciplinary research and collaboration.
